A documentary Zamacona Productions is currently producing, chronicles the rich history of jazz in San Francisco. Hosted by old-time jazz greats and San Francisco natives Earl Watkins and Vernon Alley the program will provide an entertaining and compelling oral history of the San Francisco jazz movement from 1940 to 1970.
Earl and Vernon Reunited

Vernon and Earl played with jazz legends Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Dave Brubeck, Lionel Hampton, Sara Vaughn and many others. Their personal accounts will captivate all music lovers!

Various grants from foundations and individual contributions have allowed us to move into production. Many people in the Bay Area have contributed historic memorabilia and photographs to enrich this project.
